It’s time for you to MountainUp.
The Colorado Mountain Club is helping you harness the power of summer adventure this July and August to benefit outdoor education, conservation and the mountain lifestyle.
Choose your own adventure, big or small, and use your inspiring goals, stories and photos to motivate others to sponsor you with monetary donations. Whether your personal milestone is thru-hiking the Colorado Trail, standing on top of a 14er, biking 500 miles, climbing 5.12, breaking a personal-record half-marathon time or paddling a section of the Arkansas River, your adventure can help preserve the Colorado mountain experience. The campaign will begin July 1 and run through the end of August.
MountainUp fundraisers can be individuals or teams of up to four people. Once you choose your adventure, you set a monetary goal and ask your friends, family and coworkers for donations to sponsor you as you pursue your mission. The fundraiser will run through the ColoradoGives.org website and all proceeds will benefit the CMC’s programs, including youth education and conservation.
Participants will be eligible for prizes based on the amount of money they raise, and those with the highest number of donors, coolest adventure and most total dollars raised will receive huge packages of awesome outdoor gear and experiences.
A MountainUp kickoff party is scheduled for June 17 at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden. Registration will open June 1 and toolkits will be provided to everyone who signs up. For more information, visit www.cmc.org/mountainup.
