Taking advantage of your employer’s charitable giving options is a great way to support your favorite cause, including CMC! Workplace giving can include several convenient options for increasing the impact of a donation you make to the Club or the time you spend volunteering with CMC. Frequently, an employer’s matching contribution will be dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling the impact of your gift!
CMC is a member of Community Shares of Colorado, and your employer might already participate in workplace giving through Community Shares, particularly if you work in the public sector. Community Shares coordinates the Colorado Combined Campaign and the Denver Employees Combined Campaign as well as participation by many area school districts and companies.
Here are the ways you can take advantage of this easy and affordable way of giving to the Club:
- Employer matching – This is type of workplace giving is often offered in two ways: matching an employee’s gift to a non-profit and/or matching an employee’s volunteer time with a non-profit. Let your employer know about a gift you make to CMC or the number of hours you’ve spent volunteering as a trip leader or instructor and ask them to match your donation/time. Have them contact CMC at (303) 996-2752 or firstname.lastname@example.org for any required documentation or verification.
- Payroll contribution – Choose the Colorado Mountain Club as your designated cause for a donation that is automatically deducted from your paycheck, either one time or on a regular basis. Making a recurring gift through a payroll contribution is a terrific way to give sustaining support to the Club all year long.
If your company doesn’t currently have a workplace or charitable giving program, see if you can start one! Contact your Human Resources representative or CMC at (303) 996-2752. We’ll guide you through the steps to create an impactful program at your place of business that will give important financial support to the organizations you and your colleagues care about in our community.
