Backcountry Nordic Skiing – Geneva Park

This is one step above an Easy I ski tour to be an Easy II trip. The length is a little longer at 5 miles RT but over gently rolling terrain, taking 3+ hours versus 2+ hours for an Easy I trip. There are a couple of short but steeper hills.

Hiking – Long Scraggy Peak

Hike east on a dirt road off Jeffco #126 toward Long Scraggy, and then follow a cairned route with some bushwhacking and scrambling to gain the summit for wonderful views of the Lost Creek Wilderness and Deckers area.

This is a snowshoe for RMOTHG. We will snowshoe up Butler Gulch until reaching tree line then proceed cross country to the mine.

Spruce Mountain Trail

Hiking – Spruce Mountain Trail

This trail is a big loop. Hike Southwest on Spruce Mountain Trail taking the upper loop, then down to Eagle Ridge trail and have lunch at the picnic tables at the old grave site. Then return via the Eagle Pass trail. There are great views of the Rampart Range and Pikes Peak.
