GOLDEN, CO — The Colorado Mountain Club’s State Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that Keegan Young has been selected as the next Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) Executive Director. Keegan will begin his new role on September 4, 2018.

Keegan comes to the CMC from the American Alpine Club in Golden, where he has served in a number of senior management positions, most recently as Managing Director of Membership, Marketing, Development Publications and Volunteer Programs.  Keegan brings a wealth of experience with member-based organizations to the CMC, including a strong background in organizational development and fundraising.  He is a member of the Club and an accomplished mountaineer with a passion for the outdoor community.

The Board extends its sincerest gratitude to Holly Barrass, who will continue to serve as the Interim Executive Director until Keegan starts in September.  Holly is a remarkably valuable member of the CMC’s staff leadership team. The Board looks forward to working with her on numerous key projects as we move into the next phase of CMC’s growth as Colorado’s premier outdoor and conservation organization.

Founded in 1912, the CMC acts as a gateway to the mountains for novices and experts alike, offering an array of year-round activities, events and schools centered on outdoor recreation.
