Camp 2 (10,000′)
Well, so much for a big storm. Apparently the upper mountain got hit pretty hard, but the lower mountain got a moderately good day for climbing. Pretty much all of Camp 1 set out. The guided teams, who have tents and food waiting for them in successive camps, went up to Camp 3 at 11,300′. For us, lugging our full 100lbs, Camp 2 was enough.
It is nice to have a change of scenery, and we really are starting to get some spectacular views. Here is our view from the new camp.
Tonight promises to be cold, as will tomorrow, with a high around 5 at our altitude. However, tomorrow is also likely to be dry; if so, we’ll move up again. It would be good to gain some momentum.
